Three new VacPac vehicles for new Contracts
Recresco National Sales Manager Fraser Macintyre has successfully negotiated a contract to supply and service our distinctive banks in the Amber Valley District Council area The contract provides for a mixed plastic bottle and carton collection service for "bring" sites. Amber Valley DC in the county of Derbyshire kicked off the service with a mix of 7.5cu m, 23cu m and 30cu m banks on 2nd April. Seventeen tonnes were collected in the first month. This is expected to increase as residents become familiar with the facility.
The familiar two tone banks have been located on a total of 42 sites including Tesco and B&Q in Alfreton; Tesco, Sainsbury's, Coop and Lidl in Ripley and Morrisons in Belper.
A large number of Public Houses have also lent space for the banks to make this facility available to more people. Recresco is monitoring fill levels and changing frequencies to help cope with the high usage levels.
We have 8 compaction vehicles collecting plastic bottles from Recresco banks and these three below have just arrived for new contracts coming on line through the summer taking the total to 11. The two '06 Scanias have brand new Heil compaction bodies and vacuum equipment fitted and cost £90 000 each.
