Southampton's New Arrival

July saw a new arrival at our Southampton depot - their first vacuum compaction vehicle.

With carton recycling expanding and demand for larger facilities ever increasing, the latest addition to the fleet marks the beginning of a very busy period for the depot. Southampton's area of coverage has jumped from 65 sites throughout 14 Local Authorities to 110 sites across 25 Local Authorities, with another County Council bringing 5 sites this month. The majority of these sites now have the capacity to hold 7,500 litres worth of cartons in each bank meaning that local residents can recycle even more and further reduce the amount of rubbish going to landfill.
