New Recresco depot for Cheshire!

Recresco yesterday released plans to open a brand new Glass Reprocessing facility in the North West. The site will be the latest development in a highly successful investment process. The plant will be used as a high performance centre for colour sorting, receiving Mixed Colour glass from the local area and beyond, with ships bringing glass from other Recresco dockside Hubs.

Recresco have placed orders with PPS, the UK distributor of MSS Colorsort technology for four of the very latest models. This will cement Recresco's position as the largest user of colour sort technology in the UK. Our expertise in this field, especially with this cutting-edge equipment, will enable us to produce excellent quality Green, Clear and Amber cullet from low value mixed glass in volumes never before possible.

This will prevent mixed glass being used solely as an aggregate substitute, which is not the most efficient way of recycling mixed colour bottles.

The new site is being built because both our Kirkby-in-Ashfield and Southampton depot, both of which have only recently been upgraded, are working at 110 percent capacity. This new facility will ensure that we continue to provide high quality, colour sorted cullet to both the UK and European markets.
